The Edgecumbe Choir is presenting its 2008 "Carols for Christmas" concert on Saturday, 13 Dec, 7.30pm and Sunday, 14 Dec, 2.00pm at the Church of St George & St John, Whakatane.

With a programme of at least twenty carols, there is bound to be something for everyone. This year the choir acknowledges New Zealand composer, Colin Gibson, with a selection of his Christmas compositions. Barbershop singing is always popular and the choir will be presenting four Christmas carols in this genre.

The music of English composer, Sir John Rutter, will also feature in the programme, along with Basque, Bohemian, Ukrainian and French Christmas Carols.

The audience will be asked to assist the choir in celebrating the Christmas spirit in a joyful fashion.

Ticket sales are available through choir members or door sales.
