It is all on again for The Edgecumbe Choir for 2008. With the Three Mezzos concert in March, the Janet Lince (renowned English Choral conductor) Choral workshop, The Proms in May, a combined performance of Handel’s Solomon with the Gisborne Choral Society and a Christmas concert, there is plenty for singers to sink their teeth into.

The choir is looking for new members and welcomes anyone who enjoys singing. Prospective members need not worry about not being able to read to read music as training is offered during the year. Practices start on Thursday 14 January, 7.30pm at the Church of St George & St John on Domain Rd and the choir is looking for new members to join its ranks.

The choir is over sixty strong and had its 50th Jubilee celebrations in 2007. It is the regional choir of the Eastern Bay of Plenty and usually has three major concerts each year.

For anyone interested in singing the choir is a great starting point. For further information contact Choir President Don Murray, ph 308 8700 or  Musical Director, Tony Hogg, ph 322 8881.
